Ungodly Riches

 

Lu 16:19 There was a certain RICH MAN, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

Re 18:15 The merchants of these things, which were MADE RICH by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

Re 18:16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with GOLD, and precious stones, and pearls!

Re 18:19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were MADE RICH all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. 

Re 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

Re 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are WAXED RICH through the abundance of her delicacies.

Re 3:17 Because thou sayest, I AM RICH, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Lu 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall THOSE THINGS be, which thou hast provided?

Lu 6:24  But woe unto you that are RICH! for ye have received your consolation.

Mt 6:19 Lay NOT up for yourselves TREASURES upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

Ro 2:5  But after thy hardness and impenitent heart TREASUREST UP unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

Jas 5:1 Go to now, [] RICH MEN, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon [you].

Jas 5:2  Your RICHES are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.

Jas 5:3  Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped TREASURE together for the last days.

Lu 12:21 So is he that layeth up TREASURE FOR HIMSELF, and is not RICH toward God.

SUMMARY:  Apparently, the RICH MAN is a reference to the unsaved church Babylon. Her riches are self obtained; they are not from God because they deal with brining falsehood in the NAME of God. In other words, false christs and false prophets who claim that they have the riches of the kingdom.
