A Head Covering

Is the Head Covering of the Church Christ Himself? Let's examine.

1Co 11:3  But I would have you know, that the HEAD of every man is Christ; and the HEAD of the woman is the MAN; and the head of Christ is God.

Le 21:5 They shall not make baldness <07144> upon their HEAD, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

God makes a distinction between the natural long hair of a woman and that of a man. So the Bible appears to be showing that a woman (church) desiring to prophecy with her head uncovered (without Christ) dishonors God. The head or hair typifies the covering that is Christ. Doing so, is rebellion and she might as well be shorn or shaven (come under judgment). And the man (church also) desiring long hair appears to be a picture of the body providing for its own covering by going after false (gospels). This would have been especially true coming into the great tribulation: The body is shorn and loses strength (Christ). But the hair grows back as God delivers the elect from Babylon.
